I really hope & pray an event - I will call "The Packathon" is held in Saudi Arabia on the lines of http://hajjhackathon.sa/en

Many problems will get reduced by such an event

1. Poverty
2. Awareness
3. Concrete action to save resources (materials & money)
4. Key gaps (in knowledge) will get reduced
5. Adaptation to the existing circumstances will happen faster
6. Time will get valued better - even how the use of tech & appropriate teams
7. Health of humans & even the existing environment 
8. Openness & inclusivity will get a much needed boost
9. New teams & global linkages to reduce problems will take shape 

 Problems of food waste, ewaste, packaging waste itself, energy waste and others types of waste will get reduced - just wondering even if this post is a waste of time!
