What to look for in leaders

Leadership consists of a set of skills that can be identified and learned. It’s true that some people have a greater aptitude for leadership but all of us can be leaders and can build our leadership skills.Leadership should be encouraged at every level of the organization (with a few flexible rules of behavior to prevent conflict and confusion).

Leaders are almost always:
  1. Challenging the existing processes within organization and society in general.
  2. Such people are inspiring and create a shared vision of success
  3. Lead by example and provide frameworks for friends.
  4. Accept mistakes quickly and rectify (or atleast try to rectify) the same almost immediately.
  5. Appreciate the ingenuity in children, older and younger people.
  6. Look for stuff that can be verified or create benchmarks.
  7. Are always hoping for the best to come from the worst situation.
  8. Praying for the best for every person.
  9. Are open to new ideas and ways of looking at things in general.
  10. Never discriminating in nature (discriminating by gender, race, creed or color) and treat according to the merit of the idea/case.
  11. Encouraging everyone to do their best from the heart.
Lastly they smile and spread cheer to among their colleagues, within the company and in the surrounding communities.
